My yogis learned that Yoga means "union."
It is the union of the mind, body, and spirit.
Practicing yoga can help you face fears, and makes you a stronger individual.
Remember this: Any fear of unworthiness, inferiority, or general negativity is held in your mind only.
Learn to control your energy and the way you perceive events and people.
Release negative energy, thus, your fears.
My story began 50 years ago (1972) with physical yoga practice.
In 2018, I devoted my time and energy to studying yoga in order to help others.
I concentrate on modifications for people in their "wisdom years." Those who have had injuries or surgeries can benefit from modifications.
My body is stronger, my spirituality is deeper, and I have found that my mind connects to my needs as I expel unwanted energy.
Our Journey takes us through the
Chakras*** (the Sanskrit names are given)
To recap, we spent a few weeks on the Root chakra, Muladhara, in order to know and understand grounding to the good earth. Its importance cannot be overstated--here we work with fears, find physical awareness, and personal identity.
The second chakra, Svadhisthana, located in the lower abdomen, deals with our desires, emotional identification, and guilt. By using hip openers and range of motion, we can find personal freedom.
Manipura is the third chakra, located in the solar plexus, and is identified with "fire." That fire within us produces our will, our power, and our self-definition. We must work to keep our fire in balance--not too much or too little.
The heart chakra, Anahata, is the fourth. Here we find love for ourselves first as we work to enhance love and compassion for others. We must work to control the air we breathe, take in, and expel. We seek balance. With love and compassion we seek peace. Heart openers are used to begin and end our practice.
Visuddha is the fifth chakra, found at the throat. As we experience sound, the rhythms of life, and vibrations around us, the connections to communication are reinforced. We work toward improved word choice and especially toward developing our listening skills. Creativity is a direct result of the communication process.
The sixth chakra, known as Ajna, is commonly known as the third eye. Here we learn about the variations of light, the energy of light, and color. Seeing takes on a new meaning as in seeing into the future.
Sahasrara is the final main chakra found at the top of the head. By developing this chakra, we assimilate thought, knowing, information, and consciousness. Here we attest to our individual growth, accepting that we return to any other chakra at any given time as needed.

Wheels of Life & Chakra Yoga
Meditation is the key to the unfolding lotus, the symbol of yoga.
Using meditation daily calms your body and your mind. It can help you alleviate stress. For some individuals, it has been shown to improve one's health and eliminate pain.
Weight Management.
Exercise and diet are two aspects of your life that you are able to control.
I am pragmatic. With age, I discovered that I no longer need the same amount of food that I did when I was younger. If you were to write down everything you put in your mouth for three days, you would surprise yourself.
My commitments and success include:
Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. There exists a scientific formula based on one's weight. It makes good sense.
Cut my portions in half.
Eat plenty of vegetables.
Monitor carbs, sugars. and alcohol consumption.
Advocare offers products that are included as follows:
Meal Replacement Shakes
Slim
Rehydrate
Spark
Again, portions size is important. I do not "give up" completely, but I look for balance. Balance. Balance. Yes, it bares repeating.
Essential Oils from Young Living
I have used and will attest to the use of:
Peace & Calming for Restless Leg Syndrome
PanAway for pain
Copaiba for anxiety
Thieves for germs
Lavender/bergamot for restful relaxation
Lemon for internal cleansing
Peppermint for a lift or to decrease appetite
